Corporate Office & Main Laboratory

McCreath’s corporate office and main laboratory have been located in Harrisburg, PA since 1877 when the company was founded. In 2006, McCreath moved into only the fifth facility in the over 100-year history of the company.  Prior to 2006, the corporate office was located just steps from the Pennsylvania State Capitol building while the laboratory was located in South Harrisburg. The move into a modern 20,000 ft² facility allowed both the office and the laboratory to be in the same building for the first time since 1960.  

At our Harrisburg facility, McCreath has a comprehensive preparation department capable of preparing almost any type of sample material collected by our field staff or submitted by a client. This facility also houses the company’s main laboratory. The laboratory is divided into two discrete areas, the wet lab and the instrumental lab. At almost 5000ft², the wet lab is outfitted with everything needed to digest client samples. From industrial sized hotplates, fluxers and microwaves to ion exchange columns and automatic titrators, McCreath has the tools and the skills to analyze your sample.

If the sample requires instrumental analysis as opposed to classical techniques, our instrument lab is fully equipped with modern instrumentation for maximum efficiency and accuracy. Our instrument operators have decades of experience which allows them to handle even the most complex sample matrices. Their expertise and the expertise of all our lab and preparation department staff is what separates McCreath from the competition.

Finally, our office staff is here to meet the needs of our client’s day in and day out. We believe that when you call, you should get a person not some impersonal answering service. Unless we are all on the phone or you call after hours, you should always get a staff member to assist you.
